History
  • Granted university status in 2001. Predecessor colleges have been delivering quality education in Gloucestershire since 1834.
  • The merger of various colleges has led to the evolution of five campuses, including one in East London.
Location and Transport
  • Regency Cheltenham is home to three of our campuses, with Oxstalls campus situated just minutes from the heart of historic Gloucester.
  • Equidistant from Birmingham and Bristol, Gloucestershire offers bustling towns and stunning scenery within two hours reach of London.
  • Free bus travel on the university bus between campuses in Cheltenham and Gloucester. Subsidised flat rate fee of 50p on Stagecoach bus services in and around Cheltenham and Gloucester.
Accommodation
  • The majority of first year students live in halls. House hunting support available for any who wish to live out.
  • Cost of halls is £69–£102 per week, inclusive. The average cost of private accommodation is £65 per week, non-inclusive.
  • 80% of university rooms are en-suite, with internet access.

Academic Achievement Scholarship
  • Tuition fees (2009): £3,225
  • Placement year tuition fee will be around £900.
  • A one-off payment of £1,025 is available if the student attended a compact partner school. If the student is in receipt of a full maintenance grant they will continue to receive a payment in years two and three.
  • Academic Scholarship of up to £515 available to those students who gain 360 UCAS points or more.

  • The university achieved nine 'features of good practice' in its 2005 audit by the Quality Assurance Agency.
  • The Centre for Active Learning is a Centre of Excellence for Teaching and Learning, awarded by the Higher Education Funding Council.
  • A wide range of awards carry recognition by external bodies such as the British Psychological Society, the Law Society and the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development.

Recent/prospective new builds
