History
- Formed in 1993 through a merger of Glasgow Polytechnic and the Queen’s College, Glasgow. The predecessor college dates back to 1875.
Location and transport
- Set in the heart of Glasgow, one of Europe’s most fashionable lively cities.
- Located on a campus in the city centre with excellent car, bus, train and international air links.
- 200 yards from Buchanan Street Bus Station. Walking distance to Central & Queen Street stations. Located near to M8 motorway.
Accommodation
- Caledonian Court provides self-catering flats for 660 students, six and eight bedrooms, some with en-suite facilities.
- All rooms have broadband internet. Rooms also equipped for students with special needs or disabilities.

Student mixThere are no variable tuition fees in Scotland. Fees for 2010-11 have not yet been confirmed. If you are a Scottish-domiciled first degree student you are eligible for your tuition fees to be covered by the Scottish Government. Scottish students should apply to the SAAS to cover this cost. Students from England, Wales and Northern Ireland should apply for a fee loan toStudent Finance England, Student Finance Wales, and Student Finance Northern Ireland as appropriate. Students from elsewhere in the EU should contact the SAAS.- Tuition fees for non-Scottish domiciled students for 2009-10 have yet to be confirmed but are expected to be £1,820 a year (£2,895 for medicine).
- The RUK Bursary has been introduced for students normally resident in England, Wales or Northern Ireland only, studying at a Scottish university, who would otherwise have been eligible for a £319 national minimum bursary (i.e. in receipt of full HEMG) had they studied at a university in the rest of the UK. The RUK Bursary is currently worth around £310.
- Fees for placement year and year abroad are normally 50% of full-time fee.
- Magnus Magnusson Scholarships – awards of up to £5,000 will be presented to students in their second year upwards. Applications from any discipline and from any part of the university or for almost any kind of proposal that will help individuals to reach their dreams are welcome. However, judges will be especially pleased to receive applications from areas relating to any of Magnus Magnusson's personal interests, including the media, history, language, literature and the natural environment. Applicants must demonstrate achievement in their chosen area, and have a clear plan to take their work forward.
- The university administers hardship and childcare funds to which UK undergraduate students in need may apply.

- One in five nurses and healthcare professionals educated in Scotland are educated at Glasgow Caledonian.
- Caledonian Business School is the largest in Scotland and the fifth largest in Britain.
- Glasgow Caledonian is the only Scottish provider of Ophthalmic Dispensing and Optometry degrees.
