History
  • Delivering higher education for 125 years,  when it was the first non-denominational teacher training college for women in 1885.
  • The main campus moved to Ormskirk, 15 miles outside Liverpool, in 1933.
Location and Transport
  • Main campus in Ormskirk and locations across the Northwest and into the west Midlands.
  • A free bus-link between Ormskirk and the campus on presentation of a valid bus pass.
  • The campus is 5 minutes from the M58 by car and 30 minutes from Liverpool and Preston by train.
  • A green travel plan which is set up to help the environment and lower the university’s carbon footprint.
    Accommodation
    • Nineteen halls of residence on the Ormskirk campus, housing up to 671 students in single study bedrooms. An extra 144 bed spaces will be available from September 2009, with new on-campus accommodation currently under construction. 
    • The majority of second and third years live off campus, either with their families or in rented accommodation, where students can expect to pay around £50–£60 per week.
