- City University London was founded in 1894 as the Northampton Institute and was awarded full university status in 1966.
- The university, whose motto is to serve mankind, is committed to leading London in education, research and knowledge transfer for business and the professions, and is renowned for its international focus and the employability of its graduates.
- City University London has one of the highest proportions of international and graduate students of any university in the UK. It successfully combines academic and professional studies: the majority of City students gain a professional, as well as an academic award.
